Quote a Job – Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Quote a Job website, platform, and related services (the "Platform").

By creating an account, posting a job, requesting quotes, submitting quotes, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the Platform.

1. Our role

Quote a Job operates an online marketplace designed to connect customers seeking services with independent professionals.

Professionals on the Platform may include, but are not limited to:

• tradespeople
• contractors
• consultants
• technicians
• specialists
• businesses providing professional services

Quote a Job:

• does not employ professionals
• does not supervise or control work carried out
• does not guarantee the quality, legality, safety or completion of any work

Any contract for services is strictly between the customer and the professional.

Quote a Job is not a party to any agreement formed between users.

2. Eligibility and accounts

To use the Platform you must:

• be at least 18 years old
• provide accurate and truthful information
• maintain the security of your account credentials.

You are responsible for all activity carried out under your account.

Quote a Job may suspend or terminate accounts that contain false, misleading, or incomplete information.

3. Use of the platform

You agree not to:

• post false or misleading information
• impersonate another individual or business
• publish unlawful, abusive, defamatory, or offensive content
• manipulate ratings, rankings, reviews, or platform systems
• attempt to bypass platform systems, fees, or safeguards

Misuse of the Platform may result in account suspension or termination.

4. Quotes and service agreements

Professionals may submit quotes in response to jobs posted by customers.

Quotes represent offers made independently by professionals.

Quote a Job:

• does not verify the accuracy of quotes
• does not guarantee job completion
• does not guarantee pricing or timelines

Users are responsible for conducting their own due diligence before entering into any agreement.

5. JobSlot™ availability and scheduling

Quote a Job may provide a scheduling feature known as JobSlot™, which allows professionals to display their upcoming availability and allows customers to request or book available time slots.

JobSlot™ may allow professionals to:

• display upcoming availability
• accept appointment requests
• allow customers to reserve available time slots
• manage bookings within their dashboard.

Any appointment arranged through JobSlot™ is an arrangement between the customer and the professional only.

Quote a Job:

• does not guarantee that booked appointments will take place
• does not supervise appointments
• is not responsible for cancellations, delays, rescheduling, or missed appointments

Professionals are responsible for maintaining accurate availability and managing their own schedules.

JobSlot™ is provided as a convenience tool only and does not create any contractual relationship between Quote a Job and the users involved in a booking.

6. ProFlex™ rankings and awards

Quote a Job may display performance indicators, rankings, awards, or badges including ProFlex™.

ProFlex™ rankings may be calculated using automated systems based on factors such as:

• responsiveness
• quote acceptance rates
• customer feedback
• activity levels
• other platform performance indicators.

ProFlex™ badges:

• are generated automatically
• are provided for informational and promotional purposes only
• do not constitute certification, endorsement, or verification of competence

Quote a Job reserves the right to:

• modify ranking criteria
• adjust calculations
• remove badges
• revoke awards
• at any time to maintain platform integrity.

7. Platform opportunities and expectations

Use of the Platform does not guarantee that professionals will receive jobs, leads, bookings, or income.

Professionals acknowledge that:

• demand for services varies
• visibility on the Platform may change
• customer decisions are outside the control of Quote a Job.

Quote a Job shall not be liable for any loss of income, loss of opportunity, or expected earnings resulting from use of the Platform.

8. Payments and fees

Where applicable, the Platform may charge:

• subscription fees
• listing fees
• platform service fees

All charges will be clearly disclosed before payment is made.

Payments for services carried out by professionals are generally arranged directly between the customer and the professional unless otherwise stated.

Quote a Job is not responsible for payment disputes between users.

9. Reviews and ratings

Customers may leave reviews based on their experience.

By submitting a review, users confirm that it:

• reflects their genuine experience
• is not knowingly false or misleading.

Quote a Job may remove reviews that are:

• abusive
• defamatory
• fraudulent
• unlawful
• unrelated to the service provided.

10. Platform availability

Quote a Job aims to provide reliable access to the Platform but does not guarantee that the Platform will be:

• uninterrupted
• secure
• error-free
• available at all times.

Access may be suspended temporarily for maintenance, updates, or technical reasons.

11. Suspension and termination

Quote a Job may suspend or terminate accounts where it reasonably believes that a user has:

• breached these Terms
• misused the Platform
• engaged in fraudulent or unlawful activity
• manipulated reviews, rankings, or platform systems.

We may remove content, listings, or accounts where necessary to protect the integrity of the Platform.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quote a Job shall not be liable for any loss, damage, costs, or expenses arising out of or in connection with:

• services provided by professionals
• disputes between users
• failure of a professional to complete work
• reliance on reviews, rankings, or platform content
• interruptions or unavailability of the Platform.

This includes but is not limited to:

• loss of profit
• loss of business
• loss of opportunity
• loss of data.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

13. Intellectual property

All intellectual property relating to the Platform including:

• branding
• software
• design
• functionality
• ProFlex™ and JobSlot™ systems

remains the property of Quote a Job.

Users may not reproduce, distribute, or exploit any part of the Platform without prior written permission.

14. Communications

By creating an account or using the Platform, you consent to receiving communications relating to:

• job notifications
• quote responses
• booking requests
• account activity
• service updates
• platform announcements.

These communications may be delivered via:

• email
• in-platform messaging
• SMS
• WhatsApp or similar messaging services where available.

All communications are processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws including UK GDPR.

15. Changes to these Terms

Quote a Job may update these Terms from time to time.

Where changes are material, users will be notified through reasonable means such as email or platform notices.

Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
